Yesterday was mainly filled with the drive from Yala to somewhere I can't pronounce!but it was a nice drive except for the drivers constant drivel. We took it in turns to catch up on some sleep. As we climed the mountains the scenery changed and the tempeture dropped. This came as a bit of a shock, we both wore jackets and long trousers out in the evening. When we got back the "house boy" had brought us a heater and some extra blankets. Funny little place, overlooking a lake. Our house boy is a nice young lad who can not do enough for us. He's brought us tea three time without us asking. (I expect we will still get charged!!) but he really is a hard worker, and there are not many that will do something without hanging around expecting a tip. we have already agreed that he should have a good one!!!! Today was a bit out of the ordinary. We woke at 4.30 to go to a "view" in the national park that is best seen as the sun rises, however before we left Bev made us tea, after as he got out of bed he slipped on the carpet on the tiled floor, if it hadn't been a concern it would have been so funny, flat on his back with legs and arms up in the air, still holing the cups up, but the remainder of the tea all over him!!!! It became a concern when he realised that he doesn't have the fat that he use to have and his back felt quite bruised. Any way not letting that spoil our plans, off we went with a flask of tea and cheese and egg sandwiches for breakfast, complements of "the house boy" We had an hour drive up mountains and through remote villages. The views were wonderful but supposedly nothing in comparison to "worlds end" so called because you can go no further except down, a 1500 mt drop with no protective fencing! (what health and safety asked the Aussie who fell to his death last month, taking a photo! Back a bit and a bit more!!!!) Anyway we arrived at the gates where a nice chap asked for 6000 rupee entry, I dug deep into Bev wallet to find that we only had 4500 between us!! So yes the view was supposed to be out of this world! But we will never see it! We turned around and headed down again taking in a few sites, water falls tea plantations and a cow farm, who the guide is very proud of and wanted us to see. I didnt like to affend buy informing him that we have 1000ss of cows at home. The afternoon we rested then Cedrik decided that the best thing for Bevs back was a massage, so he drove us to someone he knew!! Very strange, very shabby, in the front of some woman's house!!! Well in for a penny in for a pound. We both lead On the beds next to each other, without a stitch of clothing on, except for a very small thin sheet!! In came two girls, Bev got the little dainty looking one and I got the one with the muscles!! Oh my god they started at the toes and worked up, 1,1/2 hours later I felt that I had been in a scrum with a rugby team(or was that what I was dreaming off!) we finished off with a steam bath or at least I did, Bev refused as it looked like a coffin with your head hanging out or even the French guillotine!!! Anyway I tried it, as you lay (naked) On the wooden bench type bed the steam got hotter and hotter!! The bed was covered in dried leaves of some sort which kept sticking to your bum so it was best not to wriggle!!!! Finally £20.00 each and 1.1/2 hours later we both felt very relaxed, so much so that Bev fell asleep at the dinner table! ( or is he board with me already, you will have to keep reading to find out). Good night campers!
